About Casey

Casey is interested in how land-use changes impact socio-ecological systems, including grasslands, savannas and woodlands in the tropics and in the UK. Land-use change includes intensification, deforestation and forest degradation. Casey uses a mix of remote sensing, ecological fieldwork and modelling, household surveys and interviews and is interested in developing new methods to quantify degradation and its drivers and outcomes.
