A University of Amsterdam delegation led by Rector Magnificus Professor Karen Maex, visited the University of Edinburgh on 25 and 26 October. Memorandum of Agreement The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Agreement reinforcing their commitment to build partnerships with leading universities across Europe. The agreement commits matched funding from each University over the next three years, and supports colaboration in several areas, including energy and carbon capture and sustainability. Centre collaboration with University of Amsterdam Casey Ryan and Kyle Dexter, along with Head of School of GeoSciences Simon Kelley, met with representatives from the University of Amsterdam to discuss potential research collaborations and strengthening ties between the two institutions. There was discussion of beginning this collaboration via sharing of MSc students, particularly focused on studies of African savannas, woodlands and forests, using the SEOSAW plot network, run from the University of Edinburgh, as a foundation.
